NEW REGISTRATIONS ARE TEMPORARILY HALTED.   PLEASE CHECK BACK.  YOU MAY STILL USE THE "RECEIVE ONLY" GUEST LOGON MENTIONED BELOW

***************************************************************************

In order to operate the W4MQ Internet Remote Base you should download and install the WebXCVR application and use it as a full control interface to the remote radio, amplifier, antennas, etc. This software requires a PC with Windows XP (not sure if it works under Vista?), an internet connection of 26kbps or greater, and a sound card.

Use of the WebXCVR requires assignment of a password, before any operation except  GUEST receive-only capability  can proceed. This is to insure that only licensed hams have access to the radio equipment.

1. Receive-Only  Access is IMMEDIATELY Available

  • Just download the WebTransceiver application and log on as a GUEST with Password =1234.
    • You will only have 5 min of dedicated time to tune around the ham bands for each session. After that you may continue to operate but registered users can take over the radio.

2. Transmit Access

Note this is my personal station. Access is FREE.  I will give licensed amateur operators a password to listen (you get up to 30min vs the 5min limit for a GUEST logon), but I wish to limit transmit access.

Please send me an email and tell me why you wish to have transmit access. Also tell me a bit about yourself and your ham station. Include a copy of your license (and NOT a web pointer to  a database).

    • Email (w4mq@verizon.net) with the subject "REGISTRATION
    • There MUST also be a SINGLE, CLEARLY VISIBLE LINE in your email containing the following information separated by commas.

callsign,  license type(ONE WORD ONLY),  First Name (ONE WORD ONLY),  email address,                               Where "license type" can be one of the following: General, Extra, Advanced,,  CEPT, Full, etc...      (Whatever it is called in your country)

                           EXAMPLE:  W4MQ, Extra, Stan, w4mq@arrl.org

NOTE: I WILL DISCARD REGISTRATION REQUESTS (WITHOUT RESPONSE) THAT DO NOT CONTAIN THIS INFORMATION!!!

All US licensed hams holding a General class or higher license (no matter where they live) are eligible for transmit access.

Hams not having a US license can request access if they:

  1. Either hold a valid amateur license from this list of countries (HERE) , WITH FULL HF PRIVILEGES
  2. Or hold a CEPT1 license from a country that allows US Hams full operational privileges without any additional paperwork.  Note: Many CEPT countries do not allow US ops without filling out forms and possibly paying a fee.  A list of those CEPT countries can be found by searching on CEPT.

Note: If you are a US Citizen then you must register using your US callsign and not a foreign issued callsign

I will send you your password via email.  It may take a while, so please be patient.
