Using
the CW Keyboard
|
|
The CW Keyboard ONLY works
with Kenwood radios that support ASCII CW commanding. I am working on a more
general solution to remoting CW for any radio, but that is not ready for
prime time. All actions are immediate.
Typing into the text space will IMMEDIATELY send the text characters to the
radio for transmission. If you type very fast, you will notice that this is
not really instantaneous but reflects the keying speed selected. This is so
not to overflow the radio command buffers. The special characters
supported are those in the Kenwood manual e.g. the Ô=Õ is used for BT, etc. Please enter your CALLSIGN
in the top left MyCallsign box.
This will be remembered for later use and will be used by the MACROs in this
application.. This keying speed may be
directly entered into this application (WPM box). NOTE that the keying speed my also be
changed via your radio control interface. |

The QSO Call is the callsign of the other station. It provides
several useful capabilities
|

For convenience, there are
10 macro keys provided. These only provide simple functionality. If you wish
more exotic MACRO capability, please investigate use of the TRX-Manager
keyboard or possibly other products such as MixW.
There is not need for TX
or RX commands, since everything is instantaneous. The MACROS were intended
to simplify repetitive tasks, e.g. CQ, sending your callsign in pileup, etc
and NOT to be the ultimate in contest support!! The MACROs can be
initiated directly from the keyboard using the SHIFT-CNTL-1,2,etc keys |
