Using the Relay Control Interface

This interface is intended to provide remote control for a set of digital I/O or relays. The full capability of this control requires use of the Weeder DTIO (www.weedertech.com) card that provides 14 individually controllable digital I/O ports.  The IRT also supports 8-port serial cards such as the ADR2200 and the standard parallel port of the computer that can be used to control a variety of relay boards.

The control space is divided into two separate areas:

  • A special set of buttons to support external array control, e.g, for a separate 160m receive antenna such as the K9AY
  • A set of 8 controllable relays that can be accessed either:
    • ÒINDIVIDUALLYÓ, i.e. each may be ON/OFF independently of the other,  or
    •  ÒJOINTLYÓ, i.e. only one of a group is allowed to be ON at a time, e.g. antenna selection.

NOTE: The Weeder DTIO is required for the array control. The serial or parallel relay boards will support the bottom set of 8 switches.

All button labels are settable by the user.
